Signs of Spring

It was an absolutely gorgeous day. My garden reached 70 degrees today and we are expecting 74 tomorrow. Next week we will be back down in to the mid to high 60's.

My garden is showing signs of Spring so I took some photos to share with you. Hope you enjoy them. Click on the photos to enlarge them.

Reclaiming Mother Earth

I walked out into the back yard at 9:00 A.M. this morning and looked at the flower bed I had put in just a year a ago and thought to myself are you really going to do this, are you really going to take it out?

Heck Yeah! Let the 2009 redesign begin!

Here is a before photo I took this morning of the area where beds 3 and 4 will be placed.

To refresh your memory here is the plan I’m working to…

The compost bins have been relocated to their new home.

Today I prepared the area where bed 4 will be located. I pulled out some plants and put them into pots until I can figure out where they will go in the new layout. If I don’t have room in my yard I will put them in my sisters garden. I pulled up the pavers and reclaimed all that space I had covered up.

Who needs to go to the gym when you have a garden? Wow what a workout today!

While I did the prep work my sweet husband built the raised beds for me.
We'll install them tomorrow.

I have a lot of work to do to get this yard looking good again!
Where am I going to put all this!

Well I can't worry about that now... Once the beds are in the real fun begins... planting and redecorating.

I snapped a few photos of a bee happily working on this spring like day in Feb.
