Yesterdays Harvest

It wasn't a big harvest but it sure was good and it added a bit more to my harvest scale.

Photo Below: Container Lettuce "Garden Babies" Butterhead from Renee's Garden. I planted the seeds back on January 29th. Sixty nine days later this baby weighed in at 3.0 oz. I also pulled a spring onion which was perfect on my baked potato. The onion weighed in at 0.01 oz.

  1. Your first harvest! Yea! I love lettuce from the garden. I ate salads for 2 weeks straight last fall, and can't wait for more. Congrats!

  2. Thanks EG!
We eat salads most nights and for lunch on the weekends. I have more ready to pick and will do so this weekend since my son is home from school (for the weekend) he loves to see what's going on in the garden and enjoys eating what I grow.

  3. Beautiful little lettuce, Liisa! I can't hardly wait for mine to get to eating size...it's always so sweet and delicious. I think I've over planted lettuce, though. I might get sick of it real soon, but I love to see it growing in the garden. I try to stagger the plantings, but I get carried away ;-)

Thank you very much. We eat lettuce just about every night so I can never have too much :-)

    Jenn,

Yes it was very tasty. My sweet husband is always blown away when I tell him he's eating something I grew in the garden. I'm hoping to really blow his mind this year ;0)
