View from the Roof

Not too much going on in the garden this past weekend.

I've been harvesting spinach and lettuce every other day and I even have a surplus...

Photo Below: I did a little weeding... Really this is all I have for weeds. I love SFG... No weeds!

I took some new photos from the roof to share with you...

Click on photos for a larger view... Enjoy....

Photo Below: The tomatoes have reached the top of the fence.

Photo Below: The raspberries are starting to show some color.

I'll take more photos this coming weekend. The cucumbers are starting to put on some size and so is the spaghetti squash. I finally have cherry tomatoes on the vine.... so be sure to check back.

  1. Liisa, I just love those pics from the roof! Gosh, you're so far ahead of the rest of us...

  2. Liisa, you should be the poster child for SFG! I know I rave and drool and envy every time I comment, but you really deserve every single rave and drool! I'm trying to get Mr. H to remove the roof fro our patio so I can make mine look more like yours. It would be nice to have something out there besides table, bbq grill and chairs.

  3. I just have to leave another comment, Liisa. I had Mr. H look at your pictures and he was IMPRESSED! Veggie gardens and patios don't interest Mr. H, so you know you have something very special when he comments favorably on it.

Did you really climb up on the roof to take those photos? :-D

  4. It's like a whole 'nother season down there! You have raspberries - that's at least two months away for us. 0.o I'm so jealous! Love it! Your garden is lookin' great. =)

  7. Granny,

LOL Yes I should be a poster child but I don't think it will be for SFG LOL. Thank you for the fine compliment and thank Mr. H for me as well. I hope the photos help you get what you want for your yard. Yes, I really get up on the roof to take the photos. We have a flat roof and a tall ladder. In fact last year I grow tomatoes and cucumbers on the roof in containers.. and you know I didn't think to take one photo! My roof garden (if that's what you want to call it) is what made me want to re-do my yard yet again.

  8. Jenn,

It's like a whole 'nother world down here!
I love the weather.. not liking how crowded it is getting in this area. Don't know how long it's been since you've been here... don't think you would recognize most of the areas any more.

As for the garden.. I couldn't be happier about the raspberries. I didn't know what to expect this year at all. This is my second year and they are just going crazy and in a container to boot! I started with three canes that a friend had given me from her garden. They had already set fruit once and I got the second fruiting which was one or two at a time. This year it will be a handful or two :-)

  11. Everything is absolutely lovely...as always.

Question about your raspberries. Did you put all three canes in one container last year or one in three?

  12. Cheryl,

    Thank you.

All three canes went into the one container. I placed a obelisk in the container to support the canes. It's working out well. Once they go dormant this winter I will transplant them into a bigger container to give the in coming canes more room.
