Spring is Emerging

Everyday when I get home from work one of the first things I do after I kiss my sweet husband is take a walk around the yard to see what's going on. I can safely say Spring is on it's way in my area. Here are a few photos to share with you.....

These Spring bulbs where rescued from the veggie garden redesign when I pulled everything out of the flower bed. I put them in a pot hoping they would survive... and they did!

Photo Below: The raspberries have enjoyed the recent rains and are really starting to grow.

Photo Below: In potato bed 2 one of my red norland pototoes sprouted!
This is my very first potato so I am excited to see how it will do!

Photo Below: The nectarine is ready to burst into full bloom.

This weekend I will start planting into the new beds.
Be sure to stop by to find out what I planted.

  1. This will be the first spring in 12 years that I'll be home early enough in the spring to see my daffodils bloom!

  2. Hi Liisa,
Okay, now that I am really inspired with reading your garden blog, help! I have no doubt that your inspiration can help me get my garden back in shape. I'll be reading carefully to get some ideas from you. Thanks for the blog. It is great reading and I really love the older photos. Takes me back to my orange and yellow bell bottom days. :-) Bev

  4. Hi Bev!
Thanks for coming by and for the nice words!
I really do enjoy getting outside and trying new things in the garden and it keeps me out of trouble… well sometimes... I can get so involved in it I forget to get other things done... like cleaning the house... hee hee

You have a great space to garden in! Have no fear and jump right in...it's great fun... and you get to learn from my mistakes :-)

  5. Where are the photos of the roof top garden. (Not that I would try that on our two story house.)

  6. Bev,

I didn't take any. Wasn't must to look at. I had 10 containers with tomatoes and 1 container with cucumbers. The cucumbers and cherry tomatoes did well but the rest of the tomatoes where having leaf curl issues. I'm hoping for a better tomato year this time around.

  7. Hello! This is Annie. :) I'm glad I finally found your blog because everything looks really great. I wish I could see it in person more often, but this will have to do while I'm in Berkeley! I hope the plants have been doing well with this strange weather... although I would imagine the alteration of rain/sun (at least that's what we've been getting here on and off) would be a good thing!

I hope all is well with you and Bill! I wish I could be there tonight at Ryan's birthday dinner (mmmmm, vegetarian ravilois).

    All the best,
    Annie

  8. Annie!

So glad you stopped by! We missed you at dinner tonight! Most of the plants are loving the rain. I will be planting a few things in the boxes this weekend!
Can't wait to see you! We miss you!

    Love,
    Your second Mom
